Biography

The name Cuatroespantos (four spooks) comes from the Colombian oral tradition, from a story called "La Matraca" where four ghosts cheat a man and take him to his encounter with death. This show has been presented in different showcases in the city of Bogotá, some of these concerts have been: Festival Jazz Domingo Nuevas Tendencias, Teatro Teresa Cuervo Borda (Museo Nacional) Fundacion Gilberto Alzate Avendaño, Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, Teatro Colon, Teatro Arlequín, Biblored, Sala Otto de Greiff, Auditorio Fabio Lozano (Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano) Sala Oriol Rangel (Planetario distrital), Festival Jazz al Parque 2008. (they present their first album, called  "La Matraca")




 In 2009 the band was invited by So-Hi records, to play with them in Festival Hip - Hop al Parque, in 2010 they released a DVD live in the Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Auditorium, in 2011 they released their second album under their own label "Bizarra", called "La Tradición Bizarra y otras narraciones Modernas" In the same year they also participated in Teatro Libre de Bogotá and were invited to the Feria Internacional del Libro de Bogotá.








 In 2012 they attended the end of the third Festival de Creación Visual y Video arte VFFF12 organized in the city of Baños Ecuador by Central dogma collective. 








They are winners of Beca de circulación internacional para músicos, agrupaciones e investigadores musicales, which was part of the 2012 stimulus of the Ministerio de Cultura. With this recognition they made their first international tour, which included Ecuador, Chile and Argentina.











 This year they created the music for the game Myth Ville for smart phones that was distributed in the Caribbean and Mexico.




 In 2013 they were selected for one of the biggest festivals in Latin America called Festival Rock al Parque, where they shared the stage with Living Colour, Bosnian Rainbows, Anti-nowhere League, Rebel Cats e Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas and were also invited to participate in the 21st edition of the Festival Internacional de Poesía de Bogotá.








 In 2014 they toured in the public libraries of (Biblored) and won the concert series "Música con tempo Colombiano" of the Ministerio de Cultura national award.












Presently, they are working on their third album ‘La Máquina Silente o Un Cancionero para el Fin del Mundo’ (The Silent Machine or a Songbook for the End of the World)
